Were you impacted by or concerned about the fall of TomorrowNow?

The demise of TomorrowNow was certainly a cause for concern for many JDE World users. Some were customers who lost support for critical business functions and others may see it as an indication that 3rd party maintenance is a bad risk. The Founders of Versytec understand these concerns and in fact, share some of them. We have said for years now that attempting to support newer and more robust ERP products is wrought with risk. Simply said, a 3rd party does not have access to all of the source code in many newer applications and may be forced to do things that are not legal to obtain what they need to satisfy a customer. This is a situation that Versytec avoids because we only support JDE World. World is supportable because of the way it was designed and deployed. We strongly believe that any customer running JDE World is significantly increasing their risk if they sign a contract with a 3rd party support company who is supporting multiple ERP products. Any company using the “TomorrowNow Model” is much more likely to follow in it’s path.

Do you feel that vendor support is a good “value” for your company?

Some customers rely heavily on their annual maintenance support from the vendor and feel that they are getting a good return on the yearly investment.  New releases and Cumulative updates can certainly be beneficial to some companies. Once you reach the “end of the line” and little new is coming out, you may be interested in Versytec because we provide a higher level of personalized service than the vendor.    In most cases, however, customers feel that they are NOT getting good value from vendor maintenance and are looking for quality support options that will reduce the yearly cost.  Versytec is an excellent choice for these customers.  The Versytec programs provide an exceptional level of service and expertise at a fraction of the cost.  Versytec provides even greater savings to customers who have invested in an internal JDE support mechanism.  These customers can benefit from our VersyPro Expert package.

Are you interested in receiving and installing the latest CUME releases?

If you are a World customer who is NOT installing new Product or CUME releases, you should seriously consider leaving vendor maintenance.  A significant portion of your maintenance dollar is going toward development of the CUMES (not to mention ridiculous profit margins for the vendor)  Versytec can provide complete support for your organization at a fraction of the price.

Customers who are keeping their software current with the latest Product or CUME releases and feel that they will continue to do so are likely better off staying with the vendor maintenance program. (at least until they stop producing new releases)  Versytec, like any 3rd party maintenance provider will not be producing scheduled software upgrade releases.  Versytec will gladly assist customers who wish to make specific modifications to their software, and of course we do provide the required Tax and Regulatory updates.

Customers who are planning to keep running their World software for the next 2+ years should seriously consider Versytec for annual maintenance.  If you are not already on a migration path toward a new solution, then the analysts say (and we agree) that it is best to keep your options open.  The competitive and technological landscape of the ERP Software industry is evolving quickly.  Major Software Vendors are working harder than ever to attract new customers and to steal market share from their rivals.  This trend is evident in the recent mergers and acquisitions.  In fact, a majority of 3rd party maintenance providers are either owned by or closely aligned with a major ERP vendor.   If you value your independence, then Versytec is the obvious choice.  Versytec is committed to remain independent of any major software vendor.  We will never become a “mechanism” for a Software Vendor to gain access to your organization.  If you wish to keep your future options open, Versytec is the maintenance provider for you!
